What clients are saying about our firm:
Mr. Kurtz was friendly, supportive and not at all condescending. I was embarrassed that I had to resort to bankruptcy after years of struggle but Mr. Kurtz assured me that I had done all that I could do...He didn't ask me for money if I called with questions and he took care of everything quickly. Perfect experience! -Previous Client
In my dealings with Chris over the years...I have consistently found him to be well-prepared, knowledgeable concerning relevant bankruptcy law, and a zealous and professional advocate for his debtor clients. - Professional Colleague
Mr. Kurtz was courteous, listened to our problems, and then decided to help us. We were very nervous when we went there and he put our mind at ease. This was our last resort after trying to deal with creditors and had gotten no where with them. I would highly recommend Mr. Kurtz. -Previous Client

Real Estate
Like bankruptcy, real estate transactions can be fraught with legal complexities. Real estate transactions are likely the most expensive investments you will make during your lifetime, however, there are many laws specific to real estate which most people are not familiar with. A real estate attorney is a professional in all legal matters related to real property. Your real estate attorney can prepare and review purchase agreements, mortgage documents, title documents, and transfer documents. A real estate attorney oversees the purchase and sale of real property, ensuring the proper procedures are followed regarding the acquisition of property as well as what you are legally allowed to do with that property. In the case of a real estate dispute, such as a chain of title, lot line issues, or other problems with contracts, your real estate attorney will provide solid legal representation, helping you solve all your real estate issues. Since every real estate transaction involves a specific set of circumstances and goals, Christopher Kurtz works closely with each client to clearly understand the unique details, tailoring his services to meet the goals of the client.
Wills & Estates
Today, many adults feel they are too busy to think about an estate plan, that they are too young to consider an estate plan, or they simply do not want to think about a time when they might not be here to watch over their loved ones. Other times, a person may feel he or she doesn’t have sufficient assets to think about an estate plan. In reality, people from all walks of life can benefit from some level of estate plan, and while you may think it is too soon, or you are too young or too busy, it is really never too early to begin formalizing your wishes for the future of your assets, your property, and your family. Whether you have a small estate or a more complex estate, having your estate plan in order can truly save your loved ones from spending extra money, and facing extra stress in the future. Attorney Christopher Kurtz will consider your unique circumstances when devising solutions for your estate. We can prepare wills, trusts, other estate plan documents, and can help your family avoid expensive, time-consuming probate.
Commercial Real Estate Tax Appeals
Since commercial properties are assessed and taxed at a considerably higher rate than residential property when you see a significant increase in the assessed value of your property, you will also see a corresponding increase in your property taxes. At the Christopher Kurtz Law Office, we have a positive record of successful challenges for commercial real estate tax increase. We can help you save hundreds—or possibly even thousands or hundreds of thousands—of dollars in annual taxes by filing a commercial real estate tax appeal. Assessors use different methods to determine the fair market value of your property, including the income approach, the market sales approach, or the cost approach. Attorney Christopher Kurtz can address any of these approaches in a knowledgeable manner.
